“What do you want to do now?”
Caroline had just come back from the Peace Corps and we were living in a basement apartment on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC; there was nothing we had to do, so the question was apt: What do you want to do? We ended up in Miami, living in Coconut Grove, selling books on South Beach and helping at-risk kids graduate high school. Since then, we’ve travelled and taught, moved to Vermont, opened our first shop and, finally, landed back where we started, just outside the nation’s capital. We’ve run Red Orchard for more than 15 years now, and settled down a bit, because, over the years, we’ve learned the answer to that question -- What do you want to do now? – really comes down to three things:
Live well. Do good. Gift it forward.
