Pitchfork Chair

The Pitchfork Chair borrows its leg design from the Ax Handle Stool, but does the stool one better by adding a pitchfork head to the seatback!

Up in Pennsylvania, the folks at Bradford turn a piece of solid ash on a century old ax handle lathe, creating a ripple texture as the lathe cuts a spiral down the length of the wood blank. The legs are then sanded by hand, cut to length, and attached to a solid cherry seat with through tenons and walnut wedges. The seat is sanded to a smooth, comfortable contour and, finally, the curved cherry back is attached to the seat with a forged steel pitchfork head -- incredibly stable yet with a slight spring.  A perfect sit.
